Artificial intelligence is the new technology healthcare executives are the most excited about, according to a new study from KLAS Research and the Center for Connected Medicine, a research arm of Pittsburgh-based UPMC.

Here is what 79 hospital and health system executives said was the most exciting new technology in healthcare, according to the Sept. 21 report:

  2. Integration/interoperability: 6 percent
  3. Genomic/precision medicine: 5
  4. Ambient speech recognition: 4
  5. Data analytics: 4
  6. Blockchain: 3
  7. Remote patient monitoring: 2
  8. Robotic process automation: 2
  9. Other: 5
