WellSpan York Hospital completes $50M ED project

WellSpan York (Pa.) Hospital completed its $50 million emergency department renovation.

Here are four things to know.

1. The 54,000-square-foot project began in summer 2014.

2. The completed ED doubled WellSpan York’s yearly emergency care capacity.

3. The final phase of the renovation included the ED’s 22-room emergency transitional care unit, with six beds dedicated to chest pain observation and a sexual assault forensic exam suite.

4. Other previously opened additions and renovations include a behavioral health suite with six individual rooms, two quiet rooms and two interview rooms; three pediatric rooms; and a 3,000-square-foot helipad.
