Texas Health Resources to reopen Forest Park Medical Center

Arlington-based Texas Health Resources on Tuesday will reopen the former Forest Park Medical Center Fort Worth as an orthopedic hospital specializing in joint replacement and rehabilitation, according to the Star-Telegram.

The new 150,000-square-foot facility, renamed the Texas Health Hospital Clearfork, will be a licensed department of Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth, another Texas Health Resources hospital located five miles away, according to the report.

Texas Health Resources paid $121 million for the former Forest Park medical campus during a bankruptcy auction in May, including an 80,000-square-foot office building and parking garage. The hospital, which houses 54 beds and 12 operating rooms, has been shut down during the transition.

Although Texas Health Clearfork will specialize in joint replacement procedures, it will operate as a full-service medical facility with an emergency room, according to the report.
