Washington D.C.-based Sibley Memorial Hospital will begin a $38 million project this month to renovate its 56-year-old tower, according to the Washington Business Journal.

The newly renovated seven-story hospital tower will include new mechanical infrastructure, upgrades to the main lobby, new windows, an expanded cafeteria and new décor and furniture

The renovated tower will continue to house administration, medical records, the intensive care unit, psychiatric ward, imaging suites, medical staff lounge, a chapel and maintenance departments. During construction, which will largely take place after hours, the various departments will remain open.

The renovation is expected to be complete by 2018.
