Penn State Health’s 129-bed hospital plan advances

Hersey, Pa.-based Penn State Health has received final approval to build a 129-bed, five-story hospital in Lancaster County, the system announced this week.

The 341,000-square-foot hospital will have all private inpatient beds, an emergency department and an attached medical office building.

Penn State Health plans to break ground on the Pennsylvania hospital in a few weeks and wrap up construction in 2022.

The new hospital will be called Lancaster Medical Center.
