The plan includes upgrades to areas on MetroHealth’s main campus in Cleveland, including refurbished waiting rooms, new technology systems and new medical equipment, according to the report. The $26 million does not include plans which are underway for a new medical center.
MetroHealth, which had experienced some financial troubles, reported $52.4 million in net income last year, according to the report. The health system also recently signed a new three-year agreement with AFSCME Local 3360 in which the union agreed to no wage increase in 2010, a 2.75 percent increase in 2011 and a 3 percent increase in 2012 for some 1,900 workers at MetroHealth.
