The hospital filed the certificate to the Georgia Department of Community Health’s Office of Health Planning to change 37 of its 23-hour observation beds to medical and surgical beds. The project would leave Northside with 284 beds, hospital spokesperson Katherine Watson told Forsyth County News.
The estimated $8.4 million proposal also includes expanding and renovating the hospital’s cafeteria and dining room. State approval may take up to four months, according to the report.
