Northside Hospital-Forsyth plans $8.4M expansion

Cumming, Ga.-based Northside Hospital-Forsyth filed a certificate of need Dec. 5 to expand its facilities to meet patient demand in 2021, Forsyth County News reports.

The hospital filed the certificate to the Georgia Department of Community Health’s Office of Health Planning to change 37 of its 23-hour observation beds to medical and surgical beds. The project would leave Northside with 284 beds, hospital spokesperson Katherine Watson told Forsyth County News.

The estimated $8.4 million proposal also includes expanding and renovating the hospital’s cafeteria and dining room. State approval may take up to four months, according to the report.
