North Carolina hospital to double emergency department size

Southport, N.C.-based Dosher Memorial Hospital is planning to build a new emergency department that will be double the size of its current facility, NBC affiliate WECT reported Oct. 20.

Hospital officials cited the area’s growing population for the need, according to the report. The new department will be a separate 8,000-square-foot facility. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
