Methodist Hospitals Northlake finishes $12M ED, ICU renovation

Gary, Ind.-based Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus concluded a 14-month, $12.1 million renovation of its emergency department and intensive care unit, The Times reports.

The hospital’s renovated ED features 15 private patient rooms, in-room nurse work stations and a centralized work station offering a view of each room. In addition, Methodist Hospitals Northlake’s ED houses a fast track area to more quickly treat patient with less pressing conditions.

The hospital also added 12 beds to its intensive care unit and renovated six beds with more space for equipment and visitor daybeds, the report states. The ICU places focus on surgical and trauma patients.
