The award recognizes a single facility that has shown impeccable leadership throughout the year to reduce energy use. In particular, Barnesville Hospital recorded an Energy Star score of 99, meaning it is performing better than 99 percent of buildings.
In addition, dozens of other hospitals across the country will receive the Energy to Care Award for reducing their annual energy consumption by 10 percent or more. Last year’s recipients can be eligible for the award again if the facility reduces it’s annual energy usage by an additional 5 percent.
The society will present the awards at its annual conference and technical exhibition in August.
