Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health held an Aug. 27 ribbon cutting for its new, $90 million Myrtle Beach, S.C.-based McLeod Health Carolina Forest Hospital that is scheduled to open in the coming weeks.
The four-story, 48-bed hospital will offer inpatient care, 24/7 emergency services and radiology services. It will be the first new hospital in Horry County, S.C., since McLeod Health Seacoast in Little River, S.C., opened in 2011, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
McLeod Health Carolina Forest Hospital is part of a campus that began development in 2016. It’s also the first inpatient hospital to serve the Carolina Forest community.
“For many residents, this hospital represents something they have long hoped to see in their community,” Donna Isgett, president and CEO of McLeod Health, said in the release. “It means greater access to care, peace of mind for families, and the confidence that exceptional healthcare is available close to home.”
McLeod is a locally managed and owned, nonprofit health system. It comprises seven hospitals, more than 100 physician locations, three health and fitness centers, a sports medicine and outpatient rehabilitation center, hospice and home health services and approximately 18,000 employees, the release said.
