Here are three things to know.

1. The critical care tower is part of an $850 million renovation project funded by DMC’s for-profit operator, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare.

2. The tower includes operating rooms, expanded neonatal and pediatric care spaces and larger private rooms.

3. The $850 million commitment was part of former Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard Health Systems’ deal to buy DMC in 2010. Tenet purchased Vanguard in 2013.
