Dallas-based Methodist Health System on March 17 opened a $237 million, 200,000-square-foot hospital on a new campus that spans more than 40 acres, a spokesperson for the health system confirmed to Becker’s.
Methodist Celina (Texas) Medical Center is the first hospital in Collin County and the 13th within Methodist Health System by ownership and affiliation. The hospital has 51 beds, with shell space to expand to 100, and includes three operating rooms.
The hospital will offer the full spectrum of service lines, including cardiovascular care, orthopedics and cancer treatment, as well as trauma and emergency care.
“Celina, it took us 97 years to get here, but we’re darn glad we’re here,” CEO James Scoggin Jr., said in a news release. “We go where there’s need, and we meet that need. We run to it.”
