Below are three things to know.
1. The Center for Translational Research and Education is the collaborative initiative of Loyola University Chicago, Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System and Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health.
2. The five-story, 225,000 square-foot facility hosts up to 500 students, faculty, researchers and staff members. It cost $137 million to build.
3. With the addition of the CTRE, Loyola’s academic medical center boasts a hospital, medical school, nursing school and a major research center to encourage joint collaboration across disciplines.
