The fires did not damage the hospital, but patients and staff were evacuated as a precaution due to the fire’s proximity. The evacuation took roughly three hours, and patients were relocated to nearby Kaiser facilities.
“Our commitment to the health and safety of our patients and staff is our highest priority,” said Judy Coffey, RN, senior vice president and area manager of Kaiser Permanente Marin-Sonoma, according to North Bay Business Journal. “We are grateful to our wonderful physicians, nurses and staff — over 200 of whom lost their homes in this disaster — for their ongoing commitment and dedication and pleased to reopen our doors to the community.”
The hospital underwent thorough cleaning, restocking and evaluation before reopening.
