Community Hospital Corp. plans $400M hospital in Texas

Sherman, Texas, is getting a $400 million acute care hospital with a projected opening in early 2028. 

Community Hospital Corp. — a hospital owner, management and consulting company based in Plano, Texas — announced the plan for the facility on Aug. 12. 

The hospital, Heritage Regional Medical Center, will include 100 inpatient beds with the capacity to expand to 300, according to a news release. The initial phase of the project plans to hire 400 employees, with future expansion reaching more than 1,000 employees. 

Ron Seal was named CEO of the upcoming hospital. Mr. Seal has previously served as CEO of Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, and CEO of Wesley Health Services in Hattiesburg, Miss., according to the release.

Community Hospital Corp. said Heritage Regional will break ground in early 2026 in southwest Sherman, which is about 60 miles north of Dallas.
