Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health is set to open Memorial Hospital-North Georgia on Jan. 11 in Ringgold, replacing the CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia facility in Fort Oglethorpe.
The new 135,000-square-foot hospital will feature 64 inpatient beds, including an ICU; a 24-bed emergency department; five operating rooms; two endoscopy suites; and a chapel, according to the health system’s website.
The facility also includes in-room smart technology and will offer services such as comprehensive imaging, cardiac diagnostics, cancer care, laboratory services and a range of surgical specialties, including breast, general, gastrointestinal, orthopedic and urologic surgery, the website states.
CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia in Fort Oglethorpe will close the same day the new hospital opens.
On its website, CommonSpirit said the new hospital creates a unified campus alongside the Memorial Parkway medical office building, MaryEllen Locher Breast Center, Rees Skillern Cancer Institute and The Chattanooga Heart Institute.
The hospital’s opening also coincides with a rebrand: Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CHI Memorial is officially adopting the CommonSpirit Health name, aligning with its parent organization. CommonSpirit Health was formed in 2019 through the merger of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives and San Francisco-based Dignity Health.
