The health system plans to use the 81,130-square-foot building to consolidate clinical and primary care into a single location. Axis expects the facility to be staffed with 160 clinicians by the time it opens.
Beyond primary care, the new location will offer behavioral and dental care, a pharmacy, and administration services.
“The nice thing about this location is that pulling all of these services into a centralized location in Durango really promotes the idea of community-based care,” Haley Leonard-Saunders, a spokesperson for the hospital, told the Herald. “And having all of those services under one roof, whether you’re going to multiple appointments in one day or just having the awareness those services are available to you, [the location] can just overall improve health and wellness.”
