If approved by the state, the project would add 55 acute care beds as well as additional floors to the medical center’s inpatient tower and emergency department. The project calls for 42 medical beds, nine obstetrical beds and four intensive care beds.
“This expansion would allow for more flexibility in patient placement, in addition to helping us better accommodate the growing inpatient demand,” Chris Accashian, president of Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
