7 hospitals recent upgrades, expansions

The following seven hospitals and health systems have announced upgrades or expansions since Oct. 11:

  1. Ashland, Ky.-based King's Daughters Medical Center is set to build a new emergency department.

  2. Hollywood, Fla.-based Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital completed a $166 million expansion. 

  3. Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center opened its upgraded labor and delivery unit and its neonatal intensive care unit. 

  4. Norman (Okla.) Regional Health System will embark on a $300 million, five-part expansion project.

  5. Sante Fe, N.M.-based Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center plans to construct a new $80 million cancer center on its campus. 

  6. El Paso, Texas- based Providence Children's Hospital started building its new $15 million neonatal intensive care unit. 

  7. Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth's Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, Ore., finished a modernization project of its campus.
