JPMorgan's CFO top candidate to succeed CEO Jamie Dimon

Marianne Lake, CFO of JPMorgan, is a front-runner to replace the bank's CEO Jamie Dimon when he eventually leaves the company, according to Reuters, which cites interviews with more than a dozen current and former JPMorgan executives.

Ms. Lake, 49, became JPMorgan's CFO almost six years ago. In her time with the bank, she has taken on more responsibilities and effectively works as Mr. Dimon's understudy. Prior to becoming CFO in 2012, she worked 19 years in the bank's wholesale and retail businesses.

In an interview with Reuters, Ms. Lake said: "I want to be at this company 10 years from now and I will be quite open-minded about what the next step could look like. I have told the board that I want to be here for the long-term."

Mr. Dimon, 62, intends to step down from the company in about five years, according to the report. He has served as CEO nearly 13 years, the longest tenure among the biggest U.S. banks. JPMorgan's board will ultimately decide who will run the company after Mr. Dimon.
