Amazon replaced Microsoft as the third most valuable company by world market capitalization Wednesday, but by Thursday, Microsoft had regained its original post, according to The Seattle Times.
Initally, Amazon's $702.5 billion value outpaced Microsoft’s $699.2 billion by nearly $3.3 billion. However, nothing lasts forever.
On Thursday, Microsoft's value climbed to $713.5 billion, compared to Amazon's $707.7 billion. Although stock of both companies fell Friday, Microsoft held its lead at a $708.4 billion market value, compared with Amazon's $701.3 billion.
