Amazon dethroned Microsoft as the No.3 spot most valuable company for just 1 day

Amazon replaced Microsoft as the third most valuable company by world market capitalization Wednesday, but by Thursday, Microsoft had regained its original post, according to The Seattle Times.

Initally, Amazon’s $702.5 billion value outpaced Microsoft’s $699.2 billion by nearly $3.3 billion. However, nothing lasts forever.

On Thursday, Microsoft’s value climbed to $713.5 billion, compared to Amazon’s $707.7 billion. Although stock of both companies fell Friday, Microsoft held its lead at a $708.4 billion market value, compared with Amazon’s $701.3 billion.
