An analysis of 2,646 U.S. colleges offering bachelor's degrees found graduates from a small liberal arts college with only 850 students had the highest mid-career pay potential, according to salary comparison site PayScale.

Here are the 10 colleges with the highest-earning graduates at mid-career:

1. Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, Calif.): $157,400 median annual salary
2. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge): $150,400
3. United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, Md.): $149,800
4. Stanford (Calif.) University: $143,100
4. (tie) California Institute of Technology (Pasadena): $143,100
6. Albany (N.Y.) College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences: $142,600
6. (tie) Harvard University (Cambridge, Mass.): $142,600
8. United States Military Academy (West Point, N.Y.): $141,900
9. Princeton (N.J.) University: $141,300
10. SUNY Maritime College (Bronx, N.Y.): $140,100
