The appointment is effective Feb. 13.
Mr. Showalter was previously senior vice president and CIO of Milwaukee-based Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also served as senior vice president and CIO of St. Louis-based Mercy Health and CIO of Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services. Additionally, he has held various leadership roles at Malvern, Pa.-based Siemens Health Services.
