BCBS of Georgia, St. Mary’s Health Care System ink agreement

Athens, Ga.-based St. Mary’s Health Care System and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia reached an agreement to continue in-network collaboration, reports Athens Banner-Herald.

The contract includes St. Mary’s three system hospitals — St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens, St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, Ga., and St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, Ga. St. Mary’s outpatient clinics and services in northeast Georgia will also network with the payer.

“We are pleased that these positive negotiations with Blue Cross have brought us to this moment. The new agreements allow St. Mary’s to continue to invest in technology and services to meet the needs of our growing community,” said Don McKenna, president and CEO of St. Mary’s, according to the report.
