Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York appoints Michelle Casey CEO

Rochester-based Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York named Michelle Casey president and CEO, effective Sept. 19, according to a Buffalo Business First report.

With more than 30 years healthcare industry experience, Ms. Casey most recently served as chief program officer at Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency in Rochester, N.Y. She has also previously worked for University of Rochester Medical Center. She will be “tasked with taking the organization to its next level amidst a rapidly changing health care environment,” the report notes.

Ms. Casey replaces Karen Nelson, who left for a similar post at Baltimore-based Planned Parenthood of Maryland.
