Prime Healthcare signs letter of intent to acquire Southern Regional Medical Center: 3 things to know

Prime Healthcare Foundation, the nonprofit affiliate of Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services, has signed a letter of intent to acquire all assets of Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga., and to run the hospital for at least five years, according to a Clayton News Daily report.

Here are three things to know about Prime’s plans, according to the report.

1. Prime intends to keep most if not all of Southern Regional’s employees.

2. Prime plans to invest in more staffing where necessary.

3. The company also intends to fix Southern Regional’s backed-up emergency room waiting area.
