Lifepoint Arizona hospital names new CEO

Scott Avery has been named CEO of Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, Ariz., effective Aug. 18.

Mr. Avery has served as interim CEO since June and brings more than 27 years of healthcare leadership experience, according to an Aug. 13 hospital news release shared with Becker’s.

He previously served as COO of Paris (Texas) Regional Health for nearly eight years and completed a 30-year military career, transitioning into healthcare administration. During his military service, he was CEO of Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Ga., where he led a team of more than 2,000.

Mr. Avery succeeds Shaun Phillips, PharmD, who resigned in June.

Canyon Vista Medical Center is part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health.
