Orlando (Fla.) Health recently purchased 2.24 acres of undeveloped land in a fast-growing area of Central Florida, the Orlando Business Journal reported July 21.

The health system purchased the property in Kissimmee for $3 million from Plaza Street Fund 201, according to the report. The land is near multiple residential developments.

Orlando Health said the land will be used to “address the region’s future health care needs,” but did not specify an exact use, according to the report. The land is zoned for commercial use.

Nearby, Dallas-based Everest Rehabilitation Hospital is constructing a 40,000-square-foot, 36-bed facility, with space for an additional 17 beds if needed, according to the report.

Kissimmee has an estimated population of 84,756 as of 2024, according to the report. That’s up from 59,682 in 2010.
