New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health was the lone health system to make Time’s 100 Most Influential Companies 2025 list.
The health system was named to the Innovators category for launching Northwell Studios, which develops TV and film content, something no other health system has formalized to the same extent. Shows such as HBO’s “One South” and Netflix’s “Emergency NYC” and “Lenox Hill” have been filmed at Northwell hospitals in recent years.
“This is not a press release,” Northwell President and CEO Michael Dowling told the publication. “I want to tell the real story.”
Time editors picked the finalists after receiving suggestions and applications, surveying its contributors and correspondents, and seeking advice from outside experts.
