CommonSpirit Senior Executive Vice President and CFO Daniel Morissette will retire at the end of October, according to a June 12 filing from the Chicago-based health system.

CommonSpirit’s board has launched a search for a new CFO, which is expected to be completed before Mr. Morissette’s departure.

Mr. Morissette has served as the CFO of CommonSpirit since the system was formed in 2019 through the merger of San Francisco-based Dignity Health and Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives.

He previously served as the CFO of Dignity Health and CFO of Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care. At Stanford, he created an international presence for the system by establishing sites in China, Hong Kong and United Arab Emirates.

CommonSpirit is one of the largest health systems in the U.S., with 137 hospitals in 24 states. The system reported total operating revenue of $37.5 billion in 2024.
