Jeff Cook has been named president and CEO of Hattiesburg, Miss.-based Forrest Health after serving in the role on an interim basis. He succeeds Andy Woodard, who resigned in October after leading the system since 2019, according to a May 1 health system news release.

Mr. Cook joined Forrest Health in 2014 as director of contracts and legal services and most recently served as vice president and general counsel. During his tenure, he has played a key role in hospital acquisitions and securing more than $16 million in congressionally directed appropriation grants, the release said.

Forrest Health is a seven-hospital system, including its flagship facility, Hattiesburg-based Forrest General Hospital.
