Discussions stalled last week after Yale New Haven and Prospect Medical refused to keep talks private. Both parties have now agreed to sign a confidentiality agreement, a spokesperson for Connecticut’s Office of Health Strategy told the Connecticut Mirror.
Yale is seeking $80 million from the state to support recovery efforts at the three Prospect hospitals, which were hit with a ransomware attack in August. The facilities are Waterbury Hospital, Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital in Vernon.
Yale is also seeking to renegotiate the previously agreed upon $435 million purchase price for the three hospitals.
If the state does not approve the deal, the facilities may not remain financially viable, hospital executives told lawmakers in a meeting last month.
