U of Arkansas for Medical Sciences appoints new chief clinical officer, names other physician leaders

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock announced Jan. 17 that Ahmed Abuabdou, MD, will take on the role of its health system’s chief clinical officer.

Additionally, it announced that Michelle Krause, MD, will now lead the university as its senior vice chancellor of health and its CEO for UAMS Medical Center.

Dr. Abuabdou has been with the university for more than a decade, and Dr. Kraus for more than two decades. Both were serving in these roles in an interim capacity prior to now.
