AdventHealth Fish Memorial names CMO: 4 notes

Orange City, Fla.-based AdventHealth Fish Memorial hospital tapped Stephen Knych, MD, to serve as CMO, effective May 6.

Four notes:

1. Dr. Knych, an orthopedic surgeon, most recently served as vice president and chief quality and patient safety officer for Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth.

2. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years, retiring with the rank of colonel and winning the Legion of Merit award in May 2006.

3. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Knych holds an MBA from Regis University in Denver.

4. He succeeds Leighton Smith, MD, who will retire May 10.
