Mr. Sandlin worked at the medical center for 34 years. In 1983, he was named CEO of the former Sam Howell Hospital in Cartersville, and in 1985, he spearheaded the construction of Cartersville Medical Center.
During his tenure, the hospital underwent emergency room, operating room and ancillary service expansions. Mr. Sandlin also helped recruit more than 100 physicians to the hospital.
Mr. Sandlin is a member of the Georgia Hospital Association serving as chairman in 2007. He also served on the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board.
