Mr. Chekouras assumed the CEO position at St. Mary’s in 2015. Covenant Health President and CEO David Lincoln noted in a statement, “[Mr. Chekouras] has been insightful and instrumental in the system leadership reorganization process we are now implementing,” the Lewiston-Auburn Sun Journal reports.

Covenant Health is searching for an interim leader and has retained a recruitment company to aid in the search.
