12 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Waukegan, Ill.-based Vista Health System CEO Barbara Martin abruptly stepped down from her role.

2. Columbus-based Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center CEO Sheldon Retchin, MD, resigned, following complaints about his leadership from the faculty.

3. Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System hired David O'Brien, MD, as its new senior vice president and chief executive of the East Region, effective June 19.

4. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health's board quickly tapped Beverly Capasso, RN, to replace outgoing Interim CEO Kevin Fusco.

5. Chicago-based Presence Health selected James L. Robinson III, PsyD, to lead as president of Presence Saint Joseph Hospital-Chicago, effective June 12.

6. Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, Fla., appointed Abel Biri CEO, effective May 30.

7. Prairie du Sac, Wis.-based Sauk Prairie Healthcare tapped Shawn Lerch to serve as CEO, effective in June.

8. Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis, Ill., selected Rick Goins to serve as permanent CEO.

9. Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health named Larry Antonucci, MD, president and CEO.

10. Parker County Hospital District in Weatherford, Texas, selected Randy Bacus to serve as CEO.

11. Pasadena, Calif.-based Huntington Hospital President and CEO Steve Ralph is retiring, ending a 22-year tenure as leader of the hospital.

12. Petersburg, Va.-based Southside Regional Medical Center tapped Trent Erik Nobles to serve as its permanent CEO.
