Florida Hospital Waterman taps Abel Biri to serve as CEO

Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, Fla., appointed Abel Biri CEO, effective May 30.

Mr. Biri currently serves as vice president and COO of Florida Hospital Orlando. He has been with Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System, Orlando-based Florida Hospital’s parent, since 1996. His previous roles at the organization include vice president and COO for Florida Hospital Waterman and director at Florida Hospital for Children in Orlando.

Mr. Biri succeeds David Ottati, who was recently named to the newly created role of president and CEO of the Central Florida Division-North Region.

Mr. Biri holds an MBA degree with an emphasis on healthcare from Webster University in St. Louis.
