Nearly 12,000 nurses were expected to strike on Thursday after contract negotiations failed to include a 4 percent raise or increased nurse-to-patient rations for certain critically ill patients.
Judge Peter J. Busch issued the order at the request of the California Public Employment Relations Board, which oversees contact negotiations for state employees. Judge Busch stated that the strike was against public interest and may violate the law, according to the report.
