The report — published by the Association of American Medical Colleges — showed 35.8 percent of the nation’s active physicians in 2018 were female. Among states, Massachusetts had the highest percentage of active female physicians in 2018 (42.4 percent), while Utah had the lowest (24.6 percent).

5. Oregon: 39.3 percent

3. Idaho: 26.3 percent
4. Mississippi: 27.2 percent
