Hospitals add 2,100 jobs in October

Healthcare added 14,600 jobs in October, with hospitals contributing 2,100 positions to that total, according to the latest jobs report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The October count is a decrease from the 38,800 jobs healthcare added in September.

Last month's job growth was mostly in ambulatory healthcare services, which added 7,800 jobs. Nursing and residential care facilities added 4,700 jobs.

Overall, healthcare has added 402,000 jobs in the last 12 months, according to the bureau.
