25 hospitals join nursing workforce initiative

Twenty-five hospitals will participate in an American Association of Critical-Care Nurses program aimed at improving work environments, nurse retention and job satisfaction.

The program, called Nursing Workforce Solutions, is run by the Clinical Scene Investigator Academy, a part of AACN. It provides nurses with tools and leadership training to facilitate workforce changes, according to a June 5 news release from the association.

The program has been provided at no cost to participating hospitals through a sponsorship with Johnson & Johnson. 

A total of 60 teams across 25 hospitals, listed below, will participate in the program:

  • Baystate Wing Hospital (Palmer, Mass.)

  • Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston)

  • Boston Medical Center

  • Cape Cod Hospital (Barnstable, Mass.)

  • Children’s Hospital and Medical Center (Omaha, Neb.)

  • Holyoke (Mass.) Medical Center 

  • Mass General Brigham—Spaulding Rehabilitation (Boston)

  • Methodist Fremont (Neb.) Health

  • Methodist Hospital/Women’s Hospital (Omaha)

  • Methodist Jennie Edmundson (Council Bluffs, Iowa)

  • Newton-Wellesley Hospital (Newton, Mass.)

  • Ochsner Health Center—Hancock (Bay St. Louis, Miss.)

  • Ochsner Health Center—St. Bernard (Chalmette, La.)

  • Ochsner Health Center—Luling (La.)

  • Ochsner Medical Center—Kenner (La.)

  • Ochsner Medical Center—New Orleans (Jefferson, La.)
