Danbury, New Milford Hospitals Cut 116 Jobs

Danbury (Conn.) Hospital and New Milford (Conn.) Hospital’s parent network, Western Connecticut Health Network, has cut 116 jobs, resulting in 65 layoffs, according to a Republican-American report.

Western Connecticut Health Network may cut an additional 25 positions unless union officials “agree to concessions,” according to the report.

Western Connecticut Health Network’s President and CEO John Murphy, MD, sent a letter warning employees of the workforce cuts in June.

The network employs 4,280 people, according to the report.
