Danbury, New Milford Hospitals Brace for Possible Layoffs

Employees of Western Connecticut Health Network, comprised of Danbury (Conn.) Hospital and New Milford (Conn.) Hospital, are bracing for staff cuts after receiving a letter warning of reductions from John Murphy, MD, president and CEO of the system, according to a News Times report.

Dr. Murphy sent a letter to staff members saying cuts made by the state will lead to $30 million in lost revenue, which will result in staff cuts, according to the report. The letter did not contain specifics on which employees would be affected by the cuts.
