About 625 customers did not receive loan modifications even though they were qualified, and 400 of those homes were foreclosed upon. Wells Fargo has set aside $8 million for customers affected by the glitch.

Wells Fargo recently agreed to pay a $2.09 billion fine for issuing mortgages it knew contained incorrect information, which contributed to the 2008 real estate collapse.
