Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder, La., closed its ED March 1. Coinciding with this closure, OCH announced, “We want to assure our community leaders, patients and families, Oakdale Community Hospital’s Emergency Department is ALWAYS OPEN — ALWAYS READY to meet the needs of our community, with full-time emergency department dedicated physicians and an all Registered Nursing Team trained and credentialed to address any complaint that our patient’s may have.”
OCH also used this opportunity to briefly describe a collaboration for emergency services with New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System, Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., the Louisiana Department of Economic Development and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. The organizations will expand the Acute Stroke System for Emergent Regional Telestroke program to provide hospital staff with decision support for acute stroke patients.
