Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph’s Healthcare System has sold its controlling interest in three dialysis units to Denver-based DaVita, according to a report from The Record.
DaVita operates 1,777 dialysis centers nationwide. With this purchase, it will operate approximately 25 percent of New Jersey’s 124 dialysis centers. St. Joseph’s employees can continue work under DaVita’s ownership, according to the report.
The transfer of interest will go into effect Jan. 1.
