After creditors forced the hospital into bankruptcy, it gradually began eliminating services until it operated only a 41-bed drug addiction treatment unit and an acute-care unit. Administrators considered converting the hospital to a psychiatric hospital, but only a handful of the hospitals more than 60 beds would have met state requirements, according to the Times story.
The hospital is expected to be auctioned at a foreclosure sale in March.
