The latest hospital spotlighted by the Triple Aim Campaign is White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital. White Plains Hospital deployed an interdisciplinary team to battle catheter-associated blood stream infections by conducting research on evidence-based practices and establishing care standards, including a new disinfection procedure.
The CLABSI rate at White Plains Hospital fell 70 percent in the six months after implementing the new disinfection procedure, saving the hospital nearly $300,000.
